As a young decision professional, David Matheson of SmartOrg, used to think it was all about finding “the best” answer. As he gained experience, he painfully learned that getting a good decision also required motivating people to want to move in a new direction.
The version of Decision Quality from the 80’s that he was taught had a huge blind spot, and so he developed a Decision Quality Version 2.0 that encompasses both the Head – finding a good answer – and the Heart – motivating strong action. David has found that it helps him engineer ways through decision problems that result in both better answers and a deeper commitment to action.
